Kaida sighed irritably.
"You could've helped us fight!"
Taem rolled his eyes.
"Whatever."
Taem looked to where Tori was flying towards them.
"Guys! There's something coming our way! Hide!"
The five of them dashed into some bushes, and watched as something came into view. Taem whispered.
"What is that...?"
Kaida gulped.
"A trainer... He must be traveling."
The "Trainer" walked up the hill, towards the cave. The Houndoom came barging out, barking angrily. The trained leaped back in surprise, then smiled. He threw out this ball shaped item, a red light glowed, and suddenly a Wartortle stood where the ball had landed. Then, the trained shouted some commands, and the Wartortle leaped at the Houndoom, hitting it with a powerful Aqua Tail. The Houndoom yelped, then shot back with a flame thrower.
This went on for quite some time. The Houndoom growled softly, it's legs collapsing from beneath it. It stared defiantly at the trainer, knowing it was beaten. The trainer seemed pleased, and took out another of those ball things. Tori looked worried and spoke.
"What's going to happen!?"
Kaida shook her head.
"The trainer is going to capture the Houndoom now..."
Sakura gasped.
"No! We have to help her! She has an egg!"
Sakura seemed about to leap out of the bushes, when Taem blocked her way. He growled.
"No. You could be hurt too. We have to stick together."
Sakura closed her eyes as the trainer threw the pokeball at the Houndoom. A red light glowed again, and the Houndoom seemed to be sucked up into the ball. The ball wobbled once, twice, three times, then the fourth time there was a click. The trainer walked forward, picked up the ball, and looked triumphantly at it, before walking away again. Sakura burst from the bushes, and the others followed out more slowly.
"I wish we could have done something..."
Tori nodded.
"What about the egg?"
Sho looked down.
"Ya. We can't just leave it to die."
Kaida walked up to the cave, and touched the egg.
"It's not far from hatching. But Sho is right. We can't just let it die."
Taem snorted.
"It's just an egg. There are many other Houndooms out there."
Sakura looked sad.
"So!? We have to help it since we couldn't help it's mother! It's the least we can do!"
Taem sighed, and was about to talk when Kaida spoke up.
"Yes. We'll bring it along with us. Then once it hatches, it can go on it's own."
Sakura looked happy, and so did Sho and Tori. Taem groaned.
"Whatever. Who's going to carry it?"
They all looked at Taem, and he stepped back.
"No way!! I am
not carrying an egg!"
Sho looked at his arms.
"But you could carry it the best. You have the longest arms out of those who walk on their hind legs. Considering I'm the only other one..."
Taem rolled his eyes.
"Fine. But once it hatches, it
goes. "
Taem picked up the egg in his arms gently, and walked out of the cave, wanting to leave where the Houndoom had been caught.
"Are we going or what!? We still have to get to wherever we are going!"
Kaida smiled, and followed Taem, Sho, Tori and Sakura following.
