Taem watched Kaida.

"Please. This place can't be trusted! We have to go. The others are probably worried! They rely on us."

Taem sighed.

"If you let me evaluate the cave for a few days then you can try going in!"

A New Discovery

"Sho, Sakura, and I will keep them encircled. Taem, lead everyone and gather on a sort of leading path to the exit of the valley. Tori will signal us when you're ready" Kaida ordered. Taem was a bit thrown that Kaida was the one giving the orders again and snorted, but lead everyone else onward.

The Rattata grew restless and struck out more and more often, but Kaida and Sakura spit out embers left and right to keep them in formation. Sho used thundershocks as well. Finally, Tori screeched from above, and Sho shifted behind the group while Kaida and Sakura moved to either side. They attacked again, this time leaving one side open, so the Rattata were driven in one direction. Every so often Tori dove down to push a few strays back to the pack as the others drove the group on. Finally, they reached Denor, who shifted their direction slightly and followed along to help keep the Pokemon in line. Every time they met up with another misfit, their course was corrected.

Soon they were nearing the entrance to the Valley, and Taem and Eko stood waiting. Taem was tapping his foot. Kaida sighed at the look on his face. With a final forward drive, they sent the Clan outward, where Taem and Eko finished the job, pushing them away from their newfound home.

Later on, building on the camp had begun again, and everyone was working hard. Taem had just put the finishing touches on a new bramble defense, as the old one had been trampled. Tori fluttered down beside him.
"Umm, Taem? Can I talk to you for a sec?" Tori asked him. He nodded and the two secluded themselves outside the bustle of wall-building.
"I saw something strange at the ruins!" she chirped. Taem grew more and more curious as Tori described what she had seen.
"We'll all explore it as soon as the Camp is finished then" he decided.

A New Home: Facing Challenges

"Great!" Kaida cheered, as they all finally got the last of the branches from the camp. "Now we'll just have to make dens, but I suppose for one more night we could sleep under the stars" she exclaimed, smiling. Her ears pricked up instantly.

"I hear something surrounding us" she hissed. The others grouped into their standard circular form.

Tori looked impatient, and murmured "I don't think-" but was cut off. A rattata launched itself from the bushes, followed by a dozen more.

"It's a whole Clan!" Sakura screeched. Kaida's heartbeat kept speeding ahead of her. "Attack!" she cried.

Kaida, and Sakura combined their fire attacks into one, wiping out huge numbers, only to be replaced by twice as many. Tori swooped, unleashed bird attacks as fast and powerful as she could.  Sho's electric attacks kept them at a far distance.

There are still too many! Kaida screamed in her head.

Taem and Eko walked silently back to the camp, feeling uneasy. How am I going to tell them? he kept thinking. Eko's ears shot up.

"Taem, I hear fighting!" she exclaimed, eyes wide. A look of shock flashed across Taem's face. I leave for one minute to think and they get into some kind of trouble!

The two raced to the camp as quickly as they could. How is Taem gonna tell us now? Eko thought, It'll be too...untimely

The Valley

"Hurry!" Kaida called back as she raced ahead, finally reaching the narrow canyon path. She slowed once there to wait for the others, when they caught up, she started walking.
"We have to save our energy, it's a long trek, but we'll make it, easy" Kaida encouraged.
"Is this some kind of wild Farfetch'd chase Kaida?" Taem snorted.
"A bit rude Taem, but you have a point, where exactly are we going!" Sho exclaimed.
Kaida sighed, "Trust me, this place IS forward, have a little faith in me!" she called back so everyone could hear. Sho nodded, thinking. Taem turned up his nose, Houndour Egg clutched in his arms.

After a while, the path narrowed as Kaida knew it would. "It should veer up soon" she informed them. When she saw the looks on their faces and the groans, she added "That means we're almost there". It began, slowly, to incline, and they had a tough and tiring time. However, when they reached the top...they were breathless.
"Kaida...it's perfect!" Tori chirped. Sakura, Sho, and Kage looked amazed beyond words. Taem though, was staring at something else...

"The Egg!" he cried, "it's hatching!" Kaida and the others gasped.
